How to Choose the Right Agent for Your AreaSouth Vancouver Island real estate agents work very different markets, so the agent who knows Oak Bay well may know little about Duncan or Sooke, and that local knowledge is what you are really hiring.
Ask each agent how many homes they have sold in your specific community in the last year, and ask to see them. The south island is big enough that regional experience is not the same as knowing your street, your zoning and the buyers who shop there.
Then ask how they will market the home. Professional photography, a floor plan, video, targeted online advertising and a clear showing plan should be standard. Ask what happens if the home does not sell in the first few weeks, and get that answer before you sign.
