South Nanaimo Real Estate Market
Where a Nanaimo budget still reaches, and why that is changing.South Nanaimo real estate market prices are the lowest in the city by a clear margin, and for a great many buyers this is the only part of Nanaimo their budget actually reaches.
South Nanaimo Real Estate Market Overview
The south end runs from the harbour down towards the Duke Point ferry, with older housing, industrial land and a working history that shaped how it was built.
It has been the cheapest part of the city for a long time and it is starting to attract the attention that usually follows. Proximity to the harbour, to downtown and to the ferry are advantages that do not change, and the housing is priced as though they do not count.
Condition and street matter more here than anywhere in Nanaimo. The variation within a few blocks is substantial, and buying well in the south end requires knowing which streets are which.
