Gold River Real Estate Market Overview
Gold River was built from nothing in the mid sixties to serve a pulp mill, laid out in one go with curved streets and a planned townsite. The mill shut at the end of the nineties and the town did not, which is more than can be said for some others.
What that history left behind is a housing stock of remarkable consistency. Similar vintage, similar layouts, similar lots. Anywhere else that would be unremarkable. Here it means a buyer can work out what a house should cost with far more confidence than in a town that grew up piecemeal.
Condition is very nearly the only variable. Two houses of the same design on the same street can be a long way apart on price purely on what has been done to them since 1968. That is the thing to look at.

It is around an hour and a half of highway from Campbell River, paved the whole way. Long, but nothing like the gravel access some of the other west coast towns rely on.
