The Wildlife on Vancouver Island

by Jason Anson

There is an abundance of wildlife on Vancouver Island. From the majestic bald eagles that soar overhead, to the tiny hummingbirds that flit around the flowers, there is always something to see. And with over half of the island being designated as parkland, there are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the local wildlife.

One of the best places to see wildlife on Vancouver Island is at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. This sprawling park is home to black bears, cougars, deer, elk, and a variety of bird species. There are also several whale-watching operators in the nearby town of Tofino, where you can often see orcas, humpback whales, and sea lions frolicking in the waves.

Whether you’re looking for a chance to spot some rare and elusive creatures or just want to enjoy the island’s natural beauty, Vancouver Island is sure to please.

Accurate Home Values. Proven Results.

Whether you are buying, selling or simply working out what your property is worth, the number matters more than the opinion. Market conditions on Vancouver Island shift by community and by month, and a value that was right in the spring may not hold by the fall.

I do not guess your home's value. I prove it, using actual market value and real market movement so you can protect your equity and move forward with confidence. Send me the address and I will show you the numbers.

You have reached the end of this article, but there is a great deal more to Vancouver Island than any one community. I have lived here for more than 30 years and watched these communities grow, shift and adapt. What I have learned is that most people choose the right house in the wrong community, and that the questions worth asking are practical ones about services, distance and what daily life actually requires. Keep working through the regions and communities at Living on Vancouver Island.
