The Highlands sits above Langford in rocky, forested country. It incorporated in nineteen ninety three, largely to protect itself from the development pressure building on all sides, and it has held that line since.
Lots are large, most properties are on wells and septic, and there is no commercial centre of any kind. What there is instead is forest, lakes, and a population of a couple of thousand who chose all of it deliberately.
